Fixed-Wireless is the transmission of data over a wireless network to a fixed antenna at a customer location, allowing the two-way transmission of Internet, data, voice and video services.
How does Plexcom's Fixed-Wireless work?
Plexcom installs a small radio antenna at your business location. The antenna receives service from one of our base station transmission sites. The service allows for IP connectivity directly into your local area newtork, or router via a ethernet connection. The service is controlled remotely by Plexcom allowing us to tier services including: Internet Access, Voice (VoIP) and data connectivity.
Is Plexcom Fixed-Wireless as reliable as T1 Service?
Simply put, Yes. With only two points of failure between Plexcom and the customer location (the base station and the customer radio antenna) there are less points of failure than with a traditional landline network. Plus with Plexcom you get an industry leading SLA and more bandwith for about 30% less than traditional T1 service. Plexcom's service can be installed in days rather than weeks or months required for T1 service.

Plexcom's Business Broadband is our service that competes with DSL and Cable. Our upload speeds are more comparable to a T1 than DSL or cable allowing for the faster transmission of data from your location than DSL or Cable connections for relatively the same cost per month.
Plexcom's services are scalable upon demand with same day service upgrades.
How Secure is Plexcom's Fixed-Wirless?
Your Plexcom connection is very secure. Unlike Wi-Fi it is not a broadcast technology that would allow for unauthorized snooping. The use of directional antennas and customer premise equipment (CPE) addressing ensures that the wireless signal is only received by the intended location. Plexcom’s wireless traffic is encrypted and scrambled over the air utilizing proprietary encryptions schemes embedded in the radios.
Plexcom’s system uses proprietary equipment, multiple-password encryption and unique CPE identifiers to keep its network secure. Plexcom’s wireless connection is even more secure than a T1. Like a point-to-point circuit, the customers CPE is only capable of communicating directly with Plexcom’s Network.
Is Plexcom Fixed-Wireless mobile like Wi-Fi?
No. Plexcom's Fixed-Wireless is a replacement or true diverse back-up service for landline based service including, T1 service, Dsl and Cable. Plexcom's service is wireless from our transmission location to your place of business where it connects to your existing wired infrastructure for distribution to your local area network.
What issues could effect my Plexcom Fixed-Wireless signal?
Plexcom's Fixed-Wireless requires line of sight to your location. Trees, buildings and terrain can obstruct connectivity of Fixed-Wireless service. Plexcom does a sight survey prior to installtion to ensure proper signal strength and service quality.
Will weather effect my service?
Weather should not effect your service. Plexcom designs connectivity with enough gain to compensate for wind, rain, snow, fog, smog, sleet and hail. Thus eliminating degradation of your service in adverse weather.
Is there a limit to my bandwidth usage?
Bandwidth is limit to the peak data rate subscribed to by the customer. Plexcom's T-Plex service offers a minimum bandwidth guarantee. Currently Plexcom does not put a cap on the amount of data that can be transferred over our network.
Where can I receive Plexcom Fixed-Wireless service?

How long will it take to setup service for my business once I place my order?
We usually conduct a site survey within 24 hours of the customers request for service. Service is usually installed within 72 hours of the customers order.
What is required to upgrade my service?
Usually a simple email or phone call to Plexcom is all that is required to upgrade your service.
